Hope & Hustler's two lovely babies, brother Asis & sister Ajanta (pictured above), joined their new home a month or so ago and that leaves us with no babies, no pregnant mummies and a long cold winter ahead :(

However, the girls are cosy and enjoying a new outdoor run and will no doubt let us know when they feel they might like to think about kittens again.

In the meantime, have a lovely holiday and please do phone if you would like to go onto our waiting list.

Bengatage quality

Our kittens are reared and sold within the guidelines of the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) and The Bengal Cat Club. (See links page for further information on these organisations.)

All of our Bengal kittens grow up in our home, sometimes alongside our Ragdoll litters, in our kitten nursery room. They are used to lots of love and cuddles as well as the usual household noises, like the hoover, doorbell and telephone. They are handled by us from birth and, under supervision when they are a bit older, by our young children. They are also accustomed to other animals, not least our beautiful pair of Rottweiler boys and our boisterous Bloodhound girl. Confident and carefree, they are also endlessly curious and daring companions.

They go to their new homes between 12 and 13 weeks of age. Kittens leave us GCCF-registered (with a four-generation pedigree), wormed, micro-chipped and fully vet-checked - every day of their lives! There's no question that they benefit greatly not only from stay-at-home-mum Lara's care and attention but from Andy's expertise as a veterinary surgeon.

They are vaccinated against flu, enteritis, chlamydia and feline leukaemia and go to their new homes with a voucher for a 2kg bag of the food they have been weaned onto and a month's supply of the litter they are used to, plus four weeks' worth of insurance cover through Pet Plan. This is all inclusive in the price.

All of our breeding Bengals are healthy and happy and enjoy an inordinate amount of attention, care and love. The cattery is in a grassy meadow on our one-acre property with beautiful views, clean, light, warm sleeping quarters and plenty of room to run around and play. Pressure activated heating pads and heated runs keep them cosy in winter and they drink fresh Scottish spring water with their Hills Science Diet & Royal Canin.

We completed a very large and rustic outdoor enclosure in July of 2008. Complete with rocky terrain and wooden frames constructed of old telegraph poles and decking sections, this has proved a huge hit with our acrobatic little lot. Simple additions - like the old upturned satellite dish bolted to one of the climbing structures - have created a unique space where they can enjoy their rough play but also find a choice spot for some sunbathing in the summer months.

Testimonial

"We can't thank you enough for letting us own Bindi. She is a joy to have and so affectionate. She greets you like a dog, talks to you all the time and has lots of kisses and cuddles to give.

We have had so many lovely comments about her and our vet thinks she is wonderful - she even climbed up on him and gave him a kiss.

Can't wait to own one of your Ragdoll babies. We have no hesitation in owning any of your kittens, as your breeding is exceptional and your kittens are very well reared. I wish more breeders took the time and patience that you do."

- Dave & Lainey Harrison, happy owners of Bengatage Aggie (AKA "Bindi", pictured right), Ragatage Kyla & Ragatage Neroli

Bindi & Pooch 2

Cost

Kittens bought purely as pets or show neuters cost £400 each. We are open to the idea of selling our kittens for potential breeding but would need to speak extensively to prospective owners regarding their plans for happiness, health, hygiene, upkeep, general maintenance of living quarters, etc. Pricing for these would be negotiated with reference to the pricing structure set out by the GCCF.

A deposit of £100 is required to secure a kitten.

Feel free to contact us if you are interested in arranging a visit or would like to chat more about becoming a Bengal owner:

Conditions of sale

Although we do not generally make a habit of house visits, we do like to know as much as possible about prospective owners and their intended living arrangements for our kittens, including the presence of children and other pets. Bengals are incredibly loving and dedicated in nature but will often make owners work for their loyalty - particularly in the settling-in period. In the end, each cat, regardless of breed, is unique in personality and individual in their relationships with their counterparts. With five years of experience in dealing with these remarkable cats, we feel that we are in a good position to offer guidance and advice when choosing a kitten that will suit you.

Likewise, we do expect that you understand the obligation you make to our cats when purchasing them and agree to a number of conditions as laid out in our contracts, of which there are two:

- Contract for sale of a kitten registered through the GCCF on the non-active register, which is for owners buying cats as pets or show neuters.

- Contract for sale of a kitten registered through the GCCF on the active register, which is for owners buying cats with potential for breeding.

Two original copies are signed by both parties upon collection of your kitten but we would be happy to forward the contract in advance. It is imperative that an understanding and acceptance of the GCCF's code of ethics precede any agreement made. If you would like to read through this document, click here:
